9 Must-Try Atlanta Restaurants

No matter how many exotic countries I visit; delectable, international, dishes I devour; or incredible people I meet along the way, there is no place like home. For me, home is none other than the sweet Peach State of Georgia. The place where everybody is referred to as honey, sugar, sweetheart, and baby; where southern charmers will leave you feeling like you’ve just made a new BFF in the span of a 20 second elevator ride; and where iced tea is unmitigated blasphemy. It’s sweet diabetic coma inducing tea, or nothing at all (this is not up...

World of a Wanderer has been nominated for a Liebster Award. An AWARD! Little ol’ me with my little ol’, one-month old, blog has been nominated *cues the dramatics*. *Ahem* So, first I’d like to give honor to God, who is the head of all our lives…” Ok ok, I’ll spare you from the long, drawn out, sappy speech…even though, technically, I haven’t won anything, but whatevs this is my moment. Can I bask a bit? Thanks :) A huge thanks to Janni over at Travel Without Ends for the nomination! #onecampertwocatsnodestination sums up this fun and free-spirited blog. But, truthfully,...

Hoi An: Part 2

Vietnamese women in cone hats

As a novice blogger, I’ve quickly learned that writing from the road isn’t as easy as it seems, ESPECIALLY when you have a month jam-packed with non-stop travel and adventures. I’ve also learned that if ever Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs should be revamped, modified, made anew, it should be NOW! I mean, right now…at this very moment, and the first level of need should be Wi-fi this is not up for debate. For about a week and a half it was a pain in the arse luxury to be able to even check my email, let alone upload large-file...

That One Time I Went Scuba Diving…

I’m not the type that typically freaks out. Well…except maybe when it comes to bugs…and furry and/or non furry four-legged animals that can scratch, bite, or claw my eyes out…and always every now and then the dark…and needles. Ok, so maybe I am the type. But, whatever, that’s not the point. The point is, when it comes to things like jumping out of planes, or zipping through the jungle strapped to a harness on a line, and swimming with nurse sharks, I’m all good. No worries. No fears. So, when scuba diving in Boracay left me...

Off The Beaten Path: Hoi An

Woman in cone hat walking along rice paddies

Street photography is probably my favorite style of photography. I love the candidness and authenticity of it. It allows me to become a visual storyteller. However, I will be the first to admit I am the biggest coward when it comes to making these types of photos. I feel like it's such an awkward intrusion, for both myself and the subject. So I'm usually THAT person who stands off in the distance snapping photos, then scurrying off before the subject has a chance to object lol. But, I'm challenging myself more and more to step...

Hoi An: Part 1

Blue bicycle against yellow and blue wall

Everything I love in life (amazing people, good food, cafes, ambiance, cute and quaint, picturesque places for perusing, and let’s not forget the beach) has been given to me in Hoi An, wrapped up in one big ol’ giant bow. Without a doubt, this place  has easily made the top 5 list of my favorite places. As once one of the most important trading ports in Southeast Asia, Hoi An has been well-preserved through the ages and is now one of Vietnam’s most popular cities with tourists flocking here by the droves. With its...

Welcome to World of A Wanderer

How Did I End Up Here? …7,283 miles away from home in a country that I’d never even thought twice about visiting, let alone actually living here. Picture it. Atlanta 2014 (if you’re a Golden Girls fan, such as myself, then you totally get that reference and we’re gonna be best friends on this journey). Ok, so picture it. In the midst of an emotional breakdown, one evening, I typed out a text to my mom that said, “Mommy, I think I’m ready to book my one way ticket.” This is an idea I had been throwing...

Adventures of 2016

What better way to kick off 2016 than with the launch of my blog and a month long jaunt through Southeast Asia (with a pit stop in Kuala Lumpur)? I really can’t think of any. Both are incredible adventures, in their respective rights, and I'm super excited to share this journey with you. So, where exactly am I headed? My first stop is Vietnam. Admittedly, prior to moving to Asia, I wasn't well versed, so to speak, on Asian countries or the intricacies of their culture and history. Sure, I'd learned about it many many moons ago...
