Hi Koneh! Thanks so much for reading. I think it´s perfectly fine to do Northern Thailand and Vietnam. You will have an amazing time! Originally I´d planned to head down to the islands in Thailand, but things changed and I don´t regret it at all. I got to spend more time in Chiang Mai (which is easily one of my top 5 favorite places). And Vietnam? I can´t say enough great things about that place, especially Hoi An. The food, the people, the history, the culture, all so incredible.

The photo in the cave was part of the Halong Bay trip. I didn´t pay extra or anything. So it was really a great deal! When is your trip?

I also had a quick question about your post. Was the final picture in the post, the one in the cave, a part of the Halong Bay trip? How would I get to experience that, it looks incredible!!

I love this! You’re so right about traffic / driving in Vietnam — anything seems to go! I don’t know how people feel comfortable driving!

Halong Bay looks amazing, even if it was an overcast day.
