I would recomend Odprta kuhina (open kitchen) on fridays from April-october. There you will find around 50 restaurants and
foodproducers at the small square close to the marketplace. They offer more than you possibly can eat or drink. Many of the best restaurants are there. But only on fridays.

Thanks so much for the information on Slovenia. I think the 24/48/72 hr passes would really come in handy here. Plenty of Spajza will also be eaten while I visit!

What a picturesque place. The photographs are stunning. The street art is simply mind blowing. This place with an unpronounceable name is on my travel list now!

Ljubljana sounds like an incredible city - I haven't yet made it to Slovenia, but Eastern European destinations have peaked my interest recently. Everything is so charming, and seems to be what Western Europe would have been before the mass tourism hit. Love that you still enjoyed your time in winter despite the cold temps - we like traveling in off season too :)

Thanks for the great photos!

Ljubljana might be my favorite city to visit! My thesis advisor for undergrad was obsessed, so when I went the first time I had to check out all the galleries and creative spaces he had contacts at. It helped that my CouchSurfing hosts were super hip and had an amazing flat. I keep hoping to line up an apartment swap there so I can stay for a month or two!

I always wanted to visit Ljubljana, this city looks like decorations to a fairy tale. Although it has some creepy installations.
This is a very good guide to the city. Saved it, thank you.

I had a professor from Ljub;jana, and ever since i have wanted to visit. The dragon sculptures are amazing. I would also love to take a boat ride around the city. Definitely a great way to see a lot. Great tips on the seasons. Hopefully I can make it before the busy season so I can really enjoy it without crowds of people. It looks lovely.

I've always wanted to visit Ljubljana, honestly, for other reason than loving the way it's pronounced. However, your post has made it for more legitimate reasons. It looks absolutely wonderful! I know I would have to buy some treats at Lolita Cafe. The winter put a really beautiful look to your photos and I'm sure kept the crowds down. I would love to walk over the Dragon Bridge and visit the Castle.
